Spiritual Director & Mentor

My name is Mark Muckler and I am a certified spiritual director and a graduate of the Soul Shepherding Institute. 

 

As a child, I attended church with my family and was an active member of Young Life in my teen and young adult years. I not only embraced the realization that Jesus died for my sins, but that God also wanted to be the Lord of my life. Having been blessed with the roots of a Christian family in the Catholic and Protestant traditions, I have grown to understand that Jesus not only saved me of my sins, but that God invites me to embrace Him as Lord of my life and an ongoing life-changing story of sanctification. 

 

Growing in the grace of God, I have been intentionally studying spiritual formation for the last twenty-five years or so. I’ve learned to welcome, practice, and teach a myriad of spiritual disciplines, creating space for God to do His transformative work in my own life and in the life of others. I most frequently relate with our God who relates with each of us through the spiritual disciplines of; Prayer & Fasting, Scripture Study & Lectio Divina, Silence & Solitude, Personal & Corporate Worship, Contemplation, Holy Communion, and Christian Fellowship to name a few. 

 

I heard the call to ministry in my childhood years and would later answer that call back in 1999. I’ve served in countless ministerial settings (a Christian School, and numerous Churches, Camps, and Retreat Centers) alongside my wife and children all across North Carolina. 

 

I’ve been blessed with dozens of Prayer Warriors and seasoned pastors who’ve mentored me for the entire duration of my ministry. Since 2008, I’ve been led to serve in a similar capacity by serving those who serve Christ.  And I continue to learn what it means to journey with God, be an apprentice of Jesus, and to make His Name known.

 

I find great joy in journeying alongside persons of all ages helping them to discern the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, whether discerning; 

-    a call to ministry, 

-    a change in a ministerial setting or church appointment, 

-    a call to go back to school, 

-    when and how take a much-needed sabbatical rest, 

-    or helping persons who simply long to grow closer to Christ.

 

It’s been humbling and a great privilege to serve in such a way. Together, with the Holy Spirit as our guide, you’ll be invited to see and experience the love of Christ and His Divine Power and Presence in your own life. 

 

My wife and I serve together with Harvest Stone Ministries and in our local church here in Winston Salem, North Carolina. We have three young adult children, a teenage foster child, and love all our animals. We love getting outdoors, going hiking, kayak fishing, listening to live music, antique shopping, driving our Jeep along the Blue Ridge Parkway, watching the sunrise at the beach and the sunset over Pilot Mountain. As an Eagle Scout and with a family history in photography, I love nature photography and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.
