Pastoral Mentor

Bob is a retired local pastor who has faithfully served in varying churches and ministerial settings for over 50 years. He studied and was trained for ministry at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and was ordained and served in the Methodist tradition.  

 

During his many years of ministry, Bob began to notice a decline in clergy morale and saw a high percentage of his colleagues leave the ministry. With the Lord tugging at his heart, he felt led to respond. And the Lord gave him the desire to reach out to his clergy friends and offer them prayer, encouragement, and support. 

 

Recently, in early in 2024, Bob saw a post on social media asking if he’d like to be a shepherd to struggling pastors and saw that as an answer to his prayers. Bob has recently connected with varied ministries to serve as a soul shepherd to pastors and their families. He is currently enrolled in the Renovare Academy in Spiritual Formation and is excited (at the age of 77) about serving in ministries that addresses the need for healthy pastors.  

 

One of his favorite scriptures is Psalm 16:6-7

​

6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
   surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
   even at night my heart instructs me.

8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
   With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
   my body also will rest secure,

 

Bob continues to faithfully serve as a shepherd, mentor, and friend to countless pastors, and we are blessed to have him connected with us here at Harvest Stone Ministries. 

 

Bob Hager is married to Carol Hager. They have three children Jeff, Mark and Justice.
